When is Opening Day? What to know about 2024 MLB season start date, matchups

The first game of the 2024 MLB season is just over one month away, but all 30 teams won't begin play until a week after that.
This year, the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres will play the first game of the MLB regular season in South Korea. It will be the first MLB regular-season game ever played in the country.
During that time, the other 28 teams will continue through spring training as usual. The true Opening Day for the coming MLB season – when all 30 teams play on the same day for the first time – will happen a bit later.

When is MLB Opening Day 2024?
The Dodgers take on the Padres in South Korea on March 20 and 21.
MLB's official Opening Day this year is March 28.
